“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35
A worthy saying long proclaimed by the Lord, Jesus Christ, for ages past.
But isn’t this easier re-echoed than observed by many?
And for others, it is more convenient to exploit than justify their confinement to the receiving side.
Not to even talk about making efforts to become bestowers themselves.
Bother less about the preferred status of any, whether it be a giver or a receiver.
If Jesus says it is more blessed to give than to receive, then that alone should settle it.
And of opportunities to give, has He not abundantly availed us with such?
What with a world fraught with humans with more needs and wants than a universe can afford, albeit mostly misplaced?
The needy, as both the Master and Moses mentioned, have neither ceased from the land, nor will they ever.(Matthew 26:11; Deuteronomy 15:11)
And of the best manner to implement this act for assured rewards, He also guided us.
Not seeking the accolades of men, but in secrecy, attracting the attention and reward of our Father in Heaven. (Matthew 6:4)
Seek out your own blessings through your persistent acts of compliance.
Be rest assured, if Jesus said it, and yes He did, then this saying holds fervently true until eternity.
Therefore, put Him to the test in this and see for yourself.
Remain richly blessed.
