“ It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” – Lamentations 3:22
Not for our righteousness sake;
We should know by now that it is no different from a filthy rag before God.
Not for our intelligence;
Isn’t the best of man’s wisdom foolishness before God?
Not for our wealth;
What do we have that has not come from Him?
Isn’t the earth and all its fullness thereof His in the first place?
Not for any attribute or object that can be named – no, not one.
But it is of the Lord’s mercies and His unfailing compassion that we are not consumed.
It is for the sake of this incomprehensible love of His and His name that we carry on strong day in and day out, despite our frailties.
Each new day sees the renewal of His love for us manifested in the gift of life, among other blessings.
Great indeed is His faithfulness.
Give God all the glory.
