“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” – Ephesians 5:2
The ‘Christ way’, despite being divinely inspired is not an exclusive preserve of any denomination, individual or group.
It is one freely available for emulation by all with an interest in God’s affairs.
Prominent on this path is leading by example;
Pardon for offenders, like perfume, oozes here;
Generosity with no boundaries towers above logic;
Respect for constituted authority is scripturally obligatory and not of debate or choice;
Compassion for the afflicted is a commandment with a reward in season;
Intolerance for hypocrisy is the one-sided face worn by all truly on this path;
And without controversies, genuine reverence for the Creator and Father of all;
All of these, among others, are an embodiment of what it takes to walk in love as Christ illustrated.
Without a doubt, many unbelievers easily surpass the modern-day professed Christians in most of these.
The latter rather preferring to bear the guise of grace as a cover for laxity.
To Christians and non-Christians alike, a worthy example has long gone ahead of us, and it is all in the letters.
The onus is on you to make the world a better place to live in while securing your eternity as well.
And this, by following the example of Christ.
