“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1
It is not enough to confess this biblical verse without a foundational understanding of what drives it.
If the Lord must be your Light and Salvation, then you must understand the relationship between this light and his words.
It is the entrance of God’s words that gives light (Psalm 119:130) and light, salvation.
Hence, ‘word-empty’ barrels can run a risk of making a boast of this scripture in times of adversity.
In like vein, for every strong man on the earth, there is “a stronger than he” (Like 11:21-22).
Consequently, unless you make the Lord the strength of your life, defeat is always only going to be a few miles down the road.
In both cases, God towers high as that pillar that must be leaned upon – and that by His words.
Get to know Him by His words and terms today.
Here lies true insurance for every created being on the earth.
Stay blessed.
