Serve God.

TO PLEASE MEN OR TO SERVE GOD?

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” – Galatians 1:10

Now that that most exciting month is here, it is time for a self-appraisal.

And this is with regards to your Maker’s expectations and standards.

Is it not enough to rob Peter to pay Paul?

Will you also rob God to pay your fellow humans?

And there goes that begging question, “How?”

In matters of prioritization and division of attention, you have been found wanting time and time again.

Your personal resource allocation finds convenience in the distrustful actions of a few to excuse God’s instructions on giving.

Your allotment of time sits well with your favourite pastimes over and above the Creator’s concerns.

And before sauntering off in excitement for innocence from any of these, be enlightened this list is inexhaustive.

A simple test is required here beyond lip service and soap operas.

When issues arise like a pent-up flood shaking your faith and contending with your professed stance for God, what side of the pendulum do you normally swing to?

Provide an answer to this in sincerity to yourself.

The takeaway is for all to rise above mere confessions and knowledge of what should be.

Rather, become what God expects you to be.

True servants of Christ, giving honour to Whom honour is due, as and at when due, is this.

Seeking not to please men but God, always, no matter whose ox is gored.

What a good time in the day and year to retrace your steps for the better.

Stay blessed.
