“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32
A word to all that may, like the Jews of old, respond to this phrase defensively.
To such ones prone to say, “..but we are not in bondage in the first place”.
To you an answer made ready awaits!
Every human born of woman is a slave to sin until set free through new birth in Christ.
The very womb and entire vessel from which we emerged, being human, is imperfect by God’s standard.
For none can be perfect before Him.
Every infant undergoes schooling at the hands of at least a guardian before coming to the knowledge of right and wrong.
If this is the original state of all humans from birth, should not everyone strive to gain freedom from bondage?
“What bondage?”, one might ask again.
The bondage of ignorance, and by extension sin, stemming from our deliberate and non-deliberate acts of wrongdoing.
This freedom comes from the knowledge of the TRUTH that sets free.
Jesus Christ is this TRUTH!
He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. (John 14:6)
You don’t have to be a slave to sin or any human or object or situation or anything else.
Embrace the Truth that is Christ Jesus that can make you free and begin to walk free forever.
