“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” – James 1:17
Receive the gift but reject the Giver.
Enjoy its features but shun the characteristics of its Maker.
This is the attitude of many a human across the globe.
If it is good, if it is worthwhile, if it is perfect, then it is God.
Can you beat the aura of the gift of life upon which all else evolves?
The splendour of the sun without which the world pales out?
The lushness of the earth’s vegetation by which all creatures are nourished to flourishing?
Or the invigorating springs of the deep that refreshes like no other?
These, among other perfect natural gifts, to all living things?
And the glamour cum vanity of witty inventions for which humans would kill and die for, over and above the obligatory adoration for their Creator?
All of these put together flow from one source and One alone – God Almighty, the Father of Lights.
Enjoy the gifts, enjoy life, but ascribe to Him all the glory.
This too is our duty, o sons and daughters of man.
Stay blessed.
