“1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” – Psalm 51:1-2
There is no perfect human on the face of the earth.
All are either flawed at birth or eventually fall along the way, or both.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;“, is what the scriptures make us understand. (Romans 3:23)
But this is no occasion for total abandonment of attempts towards perfection.
There is room, great room for the retracement of steps and reconciliation.
Picture this in your imagination – as Santa, a bag of gifts, laden; so is God, His Heart of Mercy, compassionately mounted.
To what use shall His tender mercies be deployed if not for our benefit?
In fact, God invites us all to approach His Throne of Grace with boldness to plead our cause and obtain this mercy (Hebrews 4:16; Isaiah 1:18).
So long as you have the breath of life in your nostrils, this offer is available to you.
From the least of offenders to the vilest villain, God’s plan of redemption and lovingkindness has got you covered.
In embracing His offer, here is a good place to start.
Psalm 51 offers us this template for repentance in sincerity of heart on a platter of gold.
And with this comes the acceptance of His Only Begotten, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Saviour.
So, what are you waiting for?
Remain blessed.
