“Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.” – Psalm 39:5
Look upon all that is around you and that is where this journey begins.
The eyes and all they see that feed and eventually shape our actions and personality.
Throw in the ears and we have a two-fold intake manifold system responsible for every human’s aspirations.
Such becomes of everyone in the flesh that is ruled by fleshy desires.
But little do we know, or perhaps, more like do we care about how ostensible these desires are.
Not to talk about the more tangible aspects of these that we already are or have in our possession.
We toil and moil, our efforts, the currency for our prized goals.
We grind and bind, various processes, paths and tasks, the stepping stones to the desired heights.
In labour, and finally savour, it all finally ends, if it ever does, with the accompanying sense of accomplishment.
But in due course, our adorable achievements become confined to the annals of history for that generation or generations after.
This is the best, the very best of humankind, epitomized.
Vanity becomes the best state that once was, no matter the pomp and pageantry.
Go on and sound it at the rooftops, publish it on the hilltops, for them that care to know.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all that, acquire understanding as well. (Proverbs 4:7)
But where shall this wisdom be found? Where is the place of this understanding we are talking about?
Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)
Apply your heart and act.
Stay blessed.
