“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” – Ephesians 5:3
Old things are passed away; all things are become new (2 Cor.5:17)
This is a popular saying that expresses the anticipated lifestyle in Christ Jesus for any new convert.
However, this turns out not to be the case as expected.
So often is this saying flagrantly misquoted for other contemporary issues, even among unbelievers.
Now what does it truly mean when all things become new in Christ?
A glimpse of this is given in today’s scripture.
A myriad of blessings is naturally expected to accompany this decision.
As a new saint or potential one, you become personally responsible for living a well-guarded life of modesty.
Your speech, thoughts and actions become critical focus areas for observation, protection and moderation.
The old lifestyle of debauchery and jollification must become a taboo for those previously on this path.
Every form of filthiness and uncleanness in character and nature must be shown the way out.
In this lies the aversion of curses for the discerning.
Found here as well is the endowment of God’s blessings to the fullest for His saints.
Now that you are well admonished, proceed to show yourself strong in obedience.
God’s grace is sufficient for you.
Remain ever blessed.
