“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” – Isaiah 55:7
A general notion about the pre-Christ era is that it was an age of “an eye for an eye”.
Sin and die or obey and live, follow the last command or breathe your last, such was the order of the day
This is not so true as uncountable situations abound in the bible depicting the exceeding great love of God.
His overarching mercy following man’s repeated follies is not hard to detect in the scriptures.
Unlike a law enforcement officer lurking in hidden corners waiting to inflict punishment or extort passersby at the slightest offence, our Heavenly Father is always on the lookout to overlook our errors upon repentance, no matter how grievous the atrocity is.
This has long been the case before the appearance of Jesus Christ on the earth.
Now we have Jesus!
For this reason, God’s elastic mercy, both the unrighteous and wicked alike thrive, but only for a season.
To all such ones, it is not by your power or expertise that you continue to succeed in your ways.
God’s patience alone is was has sought, found you out and sustains you.
Repent and seek Him now while He may be found.
Time is running out on you.
Remain blessed
