“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” – 1 Peter 5:6
King David testifies in Psalm 75 that promotion comes neither from the East, West nor the South.
But it is God that puts one down and raises another.
Humility and patience are two key requirements for this as seen in today’s message.
Under normal circumstances, no human boss, leader or superior will permit an arrogant or insurgent subordinate to rise beyond certain levels.
This, if at all, is for very obvious reasons.
Lucifer’s experience before any human walked the face of the earth is a clear example (Isaiah 14:12-15).
There is no co-equal with the Almighty God among the sons and daughters of men.
Not in all of creation can a negation of this assertion be found.
Scheming and antagonism, among other vices, lead nowhere other than down that bottomless pit in the end.
At the base of such acts are traits such as pride and haughtiness.
The humble one before the eyes of the Lord is that one that is qualified to be exalted.
Surrender to the Mighty Hand of God and be moulded into greatness at His pace.
This is a tried and tested formula that never fails.
