“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 1:2
A noble wish is brought your way this day and in the New Year.
Yet more than a wish, but a heartfelt prayer, first issued by one who was generally acclaimed.
This same one confirmed himself to be the disciple that Jesus loved (John 21:20-24).
This disciple was indeed greatly loved by Jesus and was privy to the innermost affairs of Christ, surpassing the knowledge of the majority of the other disciples.
Little wonder that he was able to abundantly radiate the personality of his Master, as seen in his writings in the bible.
Best of all, Apostle John exuded the love of Christ that led to the outpouring of this prayer for all of us.
This prayer, above all things, is likewise this day extended to everyone, saved or unsaved, believer or unbeliever.
Every genuine Christian and true lover of God ought to bear the same in mind for all without prejudice.
And the same prayer, the people of the world ought to desire, one for another.
Not as in the case of a one-off birthday wish, New Year chant or other special occasion prayer.
But as a continual supplication of love towards all.
In doing this, the world is sure to be a better place for everyone.
Then shall we all, without doubt and above all tidings, prosper, and in good health too.
Be richly blessed in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Happy New Year!
