To A Thousand Generations, This Faithful God.

TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS, THIS FAITHFUL GOD

“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” – Deuteronomy 7:9

As a seller of commodities, holding serious buyers in high esteem;

Like one, diligent, with a good understanding of business, ensuring a healthy relationship with the ‘customer’;

So is our Heavenly Father, in keeping faith with lovers of His business who constantly lavish Him with His preferred currency.

But this is currency like no other, capable of paying for bread and wine without money and without price.

At a loss as to what this might be? Then take a cue from the book of Isaiah 55: 1-3.

This class of customers pay forward their way into the “sure mercies of David” by their acts of obedience.

In response to God’s commandments, this payment – our diligent obedience to God’s word – is tendered, a divine legal tender.

His realm of everlasting covenants, this unlocks, counting to a thousand generations.

More than a sizeable amount of God’s promises to man are conditional, hence, the covenant root.

Lest we, in our human nature, count as unaccountable and unfaithful, He that speaks, and with His Hand alone is able to perform.

And with covenants come obligations that must be fulfilled, not shortcuts that must be invoked, to obtain results.

Prayers are good.

Mixed with fasting, we present an even better scorecard before the ever faithful Covenant Keeper.

In a similar light are our offerings, vows, sacrifices and other acceptable religious rites.

But without obedience, they are all misplaced.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked, and for sure, we have heard that a thousand times over.

Until your part is played, you only remain a guest on His list, a mere window shopper at His mall.

Transit from being a guest to being a child with hereditary rights to His covenanted blessings.

This kind, even to your thousandth generation, the world without end, till Jesus comes, awaits you.

Why tarry any longer?

Remain blessed.
