Humility, Gentleness And Patience.

HUMBLE AND GENTLE, A REQUIRED YOU!

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” – Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)

Here is a call for complete humility, a grossly eroded virtue in this generation.

Added to that is a call for gentleness, one thought to be reserved for fools in the present times.

And comes the scarcest of them all, patience – one perceived to be the lot of ‘slackers’.

Irrespective of the modern-day stance with regard to these, this call is persistent and resounding all through the bible.

By implication, there must be a place in every human for the manifestation of these attributes.

And this is without prejudice to whoever and whatever we are or may have become in life.

A true test for the proud that may argue otherwise is the usual end result of humbling experiences.

The striping of power or authority, the loss of wealth, a rapid decline in health, you name it.

It is no news the behaviour that oozes from the previously arrogant when any of the above occurs.

They wear the forlorn look of the vanquished seeking a reversal of their misfortune, even at the Hand of the relegated Almighty.

Oh! How humble and gentle they become.

But we all don’t have to be like this if simple scriptural instructions can be adhered to.

One of such plain mandates is directed your way yet again from the scriptures today.

The virtues addressed here need not be shoved down our throats and learned the hard way.

Imbibe and practice humility, gentleness, patience and tolerance as a way of life.

Express these in love to all around you, always.

What a way to impress your Maker!

Stay blessed.
