“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” – Luke 6:37
And the summary of it all – do to others as you would have them do to you.
Don’t be the first to throw that stone; it may bounce back to you harder.
The ones that have gone ahead of us have seen and spoken about these things.
From their experience, we are thus admonished.
However, this word of advice comes not from the experienced characters we are already familiar with.
Rather, this is coming from the Maker of both the experienced and the laws that sanctioned their experiences.
We, the learners in this case, are all but left with no room for excuses, only obedience.
Bearing similitude with the Old Testament law of Moses that established the “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,” rule (Exodus 21:24), this milder version is proactive in advancing its warning beforehand.
You don’t want to be judged? Judge not!
Seeking to avoid condemnation? Condemn not!
How about obtaining forgiveness with ease from others, and most especially from God; desirous of this as well?
Then learn to forgive others first.
Do all these and all like them, and you are well on the path to living a more fulfilling life.
Remain ever blessed.
