“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” – Psalm 1:1″
Walk not, stand not, sit not and earn a blessing.
“What blessing is this?”, one may be tempted to ask.
The answer to this is not far-fetched.
The third verse of this Psalm speaks of an enviable threefold package of blessings every human desire to have.
This comprises all-round fruitfulness, longevity and prosperity.
But at a price and not as a freebie.
Shun wickedness! Of this is the counsel of the ungodly founded.
Destruction awaits on this path.
Resist temptations! The way of sinners is manned by its seductive entrance gate.
For the wage of its end product, sin, is death.
Desist from scorn, the very fabric and cushion of the seat of the scornful.
You run the risk of being scorned by your Maker.
Having stirred clear of these, you are assured of your place on this queue of patience for your package of blessings.
God never lies.
