“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” – Philippians 2:12
Much as this call comes to admonish us to work out our salvation, seemingly with our hands, the truth is we are never alone in this labour.
Evidence abound all over the scripture to support this fact.
If the devil had his way, we all would have been killed off in sin before the arrival of light.
And if we succeeded at outsmarting the devil, then the dragnet of God’s wrath should have ensnared us to death.
But thank God for His grace and love, it still is of His mercy that we are not consumed (Lamentations 3:22).
Now what do we make of all this?
Not for us to go bouncing around in iniquity, like often is the case with the majority, oozing with confidence built on false premises;
But the occasion for everyone to come to terms with the reality that we inadvertently would be subjected to someday.
Within the confines of the provisions already made available to you by God, with or without mortal teachers, pastors, apostles, prophets and the like, learn to obey and serve Him diligently and acceptably.
Here lies your assured salvation.
Stay blessed.
