“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” – Psalm 23:4
The scriptures are all about understanding.
The word of God, beyond recitals, places demands on every acclaimed believer to put their faith on the line if tangible results must be obtained.
Oh yes, it feels good to know God is with you always hence the outstretched arm of evil and death are powerless over you.
However, are you also humble enough to accept the reprimand of His rod or meek enough to be guided by His staff, that both accompany His presence?
Or is yours that typical case of “eat my cake and still want to have it”, enjoying His banquet yet disregarding the room etiquette?
Be quick to understand this day that they all go together.
Therefore, enjoy God’s presence and protection for all time but be open to receive His rod of rebuke when you err.
Be open enough to welcome His staff of guidance when stranded or gone astray.
Your triumph over life’s issues only just got better with these.
Stay blessed.
