SECRET PRAYERS – MORE THAN A TOKEN FOR OPEN REWARD

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly” – Matthew 6:6

What is prayer without answers?

And what is this labour without reward?

Clearly, the expectation of any that engages in this activity is at least a reward in the form of an answer for the supplications made or petitions tendered.

But many a labourer in this vineyard of prayer, if not the majority, often return empty-handed for reasons not farfetched yet so often ignored.

Right in the same chapter of this scripture, in the preceding verses, lie these reasons.

They are summed up as praying with wrong motives or asking amiss (James 4:3).

The prayer that must be answered and must be well rewarded over and above expectations is that which is centred around the Will of God.

For this, Christ taught us to pray further down in Matthew 6:9-13.

So, seeking real answers to your prayers for anything?

Do this then and pray about His own things first.

God’s Will, Kingdom, Dominion, and people – all within your closet and not as a public show.

Make this a pattern with your personal issues on the back burner.

Surely, it won’t be long before you start wallowing in streams of testimonies.

Stay blessed.
